Jump Starting Discipleship Through Principles for Life

One of the greatest needs expressed by pastors and children’s ministry leaders across Africa is simple yet profound: “We need curriculum designed for our context. Many local churches want to disciple children effectively but lack the tools to do it well.

Robin Malcolm is a missionary serving children in Africa. Her work focuses on equipping and strengthening children’s ministry through children’s ministry leadership training and through projects like Principles of Life children’s church curriculum.

Robin explains: “These materials were written by missionaries and national writers from across the entire continent with the logistical, financial, cultural, and spiritual needs of African children in mind. Each lesson contains object lessons, games, life-application stories, and a response-oriented activity, all centered around a Bible story or text.”

Through Africa’s Children & Teens’ Jump Start project we are able to help get curriculum resources like Principles for Life into the hands of national church leaders — equipping teachers to disciple the next generation.

Missionary Jay Rostorfer in Madagascar shared, “Principles for Life is a vital tool that we are translating into Malagasy to make it available to every church across the island. It’s already helping us disciple children in a fun, accessible way!”

We’re now in the planning stages of a complete French translation of all three years of material — and praying about future translations to serve even more nations. In the future, our goal is to complete a five-year series covering the entire Bible, empowering churches everywhere to build strong foundations of faith in children’s lives.

“Thank you for helping us get these materials into the hands of African Sunday school teachers and pastors. The Lord is building healthy churches within walking distance of every child and teen in Africa, and your donations make that mission possible.- Robin Malcolm
